Hyne Timber – Character Charm Warmth
Hyne Flooring is produced from carefully managed native hardwood forests. It is ideally suited for suburban houses, city townhouses, busy corporate offices, restaurants, hotels and recreational and public buildings. The rich colours bring a timeless sense of style that is ideally suited for today’s modern styles or the more traditional designs.
Premium Grade
A clean, modern appearance obtained by selecting boards showing a minimal amount of natural features whilst exposing the tones and textures that distinguish the rich colours and grain patterns of the timber. This premium grade limits other natural features in the timber.
Character Grade
Embossed with nature’s signature including gum veins, insect markings, surface checks and small knots. This standard grade, which allows some natural features, while at the same time maintaining durability and structural performance.
AST is based on the Mid North Coast, located in Kempsey

Boral Timber has announced that its Boral Silkwood engineered hardwood flooring product has been independently tested as being compliant with the Green Star Indoor Environment Quality credits IEQ-11 and IEQ-13.
The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) enables buildings to achieve Green Star ratings. The GBCA’s Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) credits encourage the use of products that minimise the amount of volatile organic compounds emitted by building materials. FORAY Laboratories, a NATA accredited laboratory, has certified that Boral Silkwood contains the low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) required by the GBCA under the Green Star IEQ credits. This certification means that Boral Silkwood can contribute to the Green Star rating of building projects such as office fit-outs and new builds.
Boral Timber has also achieved Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) chain of custody certification (AS 4707-2006) for its timber products. This means that timber used to produce Boral Timber’s hardwood flooring, decking and structural timber has been sourced from certified, legal and sustainably managed resources. The Australian Forestry Standard Scheme also has mutual recognition by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme (PEFC) – the world’s largest forest management certifier. This AFS/PEFC chain of custody certification means that Boral Timber products, including Boral Silkwood, can also contribute to the timber credit in the materials category for Green Star.
